1. Will there be a ladder match?
We have decided to drop the ladder match because our original design of
the ladder match was not ambitious enough to make it fun.
2. What is game play like (particularly the grapple)?
We thing that WARZONE's gameplay is going to be very strong. We have
made the controls easy for the beginner but strategic enough for very
experienced players to spend endless hours learning the moves and new
ways to destroy their opponents. Here is a list of some of the things
we are doing:
1. You can dodge and block.
2. You can get the crowd to cheer for you because you are doing a lot
of crowd pleasing moves. When the crowd cheers for your wrestler, he
will get a rush and start to do 2 times, 3 times and 4 times damage.
3. You can put wrestlers into submission holds. You can extend the
amount of time they stay in the hold by rapidly pressing your buttons.
The longer you are in the hold, the more damage you will do.
4. You can kick out of pins by rapid button pressing.
5. The different wrestler attributes actually effect the wrestler's
fighting style.
Our grappling system is based on 3 things:
1. A wrestler can gain a grappling advantage by getting a few quick
shots in first. If I connect with a punch/kick/basic move a few times
and then grapple, I will have an advantage.
2. Damage of the move I am trying to pull off vs. how quickly I pulled
off the move is factored for both players. High damage moves take
longer to pull off than low damage moves. Using rule 1 and 2: if I have
the advantage because of a punch just before I grapple, I am given more
time to pull off a more damaging move.
3. To avoid always pulling off the lowest damage move we have also made
it so you can learn specific moves which always override certain other
moves.
3. Did you keep Bret Hart, Ahmed Johnson and British Bulldog in the
game and why?
Yes, we kept them in the game because we wanted to keep as many
wrestlers as possible. At the time when Bret H. decided to leave our
game was only scheduled to have 12 wrestlers. We decided to take the
best of both worlds by making a decision to keep any wrestler that left
and by adding 4 new wrestlers. The official roster is: Steve Austin,
Shawn Michaels, Faarooq, Kane, Undertaker, Thrasher, Mosh, Rocky, Ken
Shamrock, Owen Hart, Bret Hart, British Bulldog, Ahmed Johnson, Mankind,
Goldust, Triple H and 2 secret wrestlers.
4. Will there be ring entrances for the wrestlers? How are the ring
entrances be done?
Yes, there will be ring entrances in the game. We plan to use
the ingame models. They will walk down the ramp in front of the
Titan-tron. Tag team wrestlers will walk out together. As they are
walking the announcers will be talking about them. The crowd will boo
or cheer depending who the wrestler is. During special matches there
will be fireworks as well.
5. Will there be a gameboy version?
Yes. There will be a gameboy version.
6. Does the N64 have Grudge Match FMVs?
Yes. There will be grudge match fmvs for the N64. They occur
in the training room using the models from the game and real wrestler
audio.
7. How many moves will each wrestler have?
Each wrestler has ove 35 moves including a finisher and a
submission.
8. Please describe the custom room options a little more.
The custom room is the place to create your idea of the perfect
wrestler. Currently, we have several different skin types and body
types(very skinny, extreme heavy weight, regular and all in between) to
choose from. There are also jackets, shirts, pants, shorts, tights,
boots, gloves, tattoos, masks, etc. You can change the color on most of
the different pieces of clothing. Finally, you can assign values to
your wrestler's attributes. You decide if he is fast, slow, strong,
weak,a crowd pleaser or hated by the crowd, etc. Finally, your wrestler
will improve as he wins more matches. You will actually be able to tell
if your wrestler is ranked better than your friend's wrestler.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to pick your own specifc set of
moves. You will pick an existing set of moves.
9. How do weapons work?
Currently, we have a table, 2x4, ring bell, video camera, TV and
chair. The table cannot be picked up but you can drop a wrestler over
the top of the table and they will bust through it. This move will do
extra damage. Actually, all of the weapons cause more damage. With the
smaller weapons, you will be able to climb in and out of the ring. The
bigger weapons can only be used in or outside the ring depending on
where they land. When weapons get used too much they will break apart
and disappear. However, the crowd will throw more weapons into the ring
as they are needed to spice up the action.
10. Will there be blood in the game?
Yes, cage matches and weapons matches will cause the wrestlers
to bleed.
11. Is the game 4 player for both N64 and PSX?
Yes, you will be able to play 4 player on both versions of the
game.
12. Can you defend your title after you have won the challenge?
Yes, you will remain on top as long as you continue to win. If
you lose you will get knocked down a few spots and have to climb your
way back to the top.
13. How do you win a cage match?
The first one out of the cage is the winner. However, it's not
as easy as it sounds. You can't climb out unless the other player is
severely damaged. Also, it is very easy to knock someone off the cage
and falling off the cage causes a lot of damage. However, you can also
do moves off the top of the cages down onto the mat. It should be very
brutal.
14. What belts do you win in the Challenge?
You win the Intercontinental and the World Championship
belts. Make sure you choose your battles well though. If your belt
holder loses to one of your friend's wrestlers then your friend's
wrestler gets the belt.
15. How does a gauntlet match work?
You face 6 random wrestlers one at a time. However,
your health never recovers.
16. When is the release date?
Somewhere between middle of July and early August.
